Installation and Configuration
Required Components:
PACSystems RX7i CPU with release 2.00 or later firmware
PACSystems RX7i CPU rack with power supply
PC-compatible computer with CIMPLICITY Machine Edition – Logic Developer PLC, version 4.5 or later programming software
Necessary cables
Installation:
Ensure rack power is off before installation.
Slide the module into the designated slot without forcing it.
Tighten faceplate screws at the top and bottom.
Connect cables to RX and TX connectors.
Route the fiber optic cable from the TX connector to the RX connector of the next node.
Continue this routing until the last node's TX is connected to the RX connector of the first node.
Power on the system.
Initial Configuration:
The module powers on in a non-configured state with the optical transmitter disabled.
The RX7i CPU must send a hardware configuration to the module before operation.
Configure parameters for reflective memory operation, such as Redundant Transfer Mode, Node ID, Network Memory Offset, Rogue Master, and Interrupt enable. These parameters can be set by the CPU if Redundant Link operation is chosen.
Additional Functions:
For general-purpose reflective memory operations, user logic can perform additional functions, including reading interrupt status, enabling interrupts, reading parity errors, and enabling parity.
Special Notes
Radiated Emission Standards:
RX7i systems with multiple Memory Xchange modules must be installed in a conducting metal enclosure or equivalent.
Rack Slot Placement:
It is advised to install RMX modules in slots 4 and 3 of the main rack for optimal VME interrupt request priority, though this is not strictly required.
