The Woodward 9907-167 unit is part of the renowned 505E series of digital control devices. Manufactured by Woodward Inc., a leading independent manufacturer of turbine control systems in America, the 505E series is tailored for industrial-sized steam turbines, small unit turbogenerators, or utility turboexpander models. Specifically designed for single extraction and/or admission of steam turbines, it ensures operational efficiency by utilizing a pair of actuators to drive the inlet steam valves.
The 9907-167 unit, equipped with a 32-bit microprocessor, serves as the control hub for turbines. Housed in a sturdy enclosure, comprised of printed circuit board units, it can be securely mounted within a control panel system. Optionally, it can be fitted with a NEMA 4X grade protective casing, safeguarding its electromechanical components against permanent damage and invasive particles. This watertight and dust-tight casing, suitable for indoor and outdoor conditions, extends the unit's ambient temperature range from -25°C to 65°C. However, with the protective frame attached, it can withstand temperatures up to 55°C.
