The TU846 is a module termination unit (MTU) designed for the redundant configuration of the field communication interface CI840/CI840A and redundant I/O systems. This passive unit includes connections for power supply, two electrical ModuleBuses, and features two CI840/CI840A modules. It also incorporates two rotary switches for station address settings (ranging from 0 to 99).
A ModuleBus Optical Port TB842 can be linked to the TU846 via TB846. The MTU is configured using four mechanical keys, two for each position, allowing for 36 different configurations based on module types. Mechanical keying ensures correct module insertion. The unit is DIN rail mounted, featuring a latching device for secure attachment and grounding.
