With a 0.787 V/mm (20 mV/mil) output, this system offers a linear range of 12.7 mm (500 mils). It is ideal for measuring differential expansion (DE) in mid-size to large steam turbine generators, monitoring the difference in growth rates between the turbine rotor and the machine stator (casing).
Proximity Probe and Extension Cable
The 3300 XL 25 mm probe is engineered for maximum durability, even in the harshest steam turbine DE environments. It operates continuously and maintains accuracy at temperatures up to 200 °C (392 °F). The probe also withstands intermittent high temperatures reaching 250 °C (482 °F). The front and rear seals, along with the FluidLoc cable, effectively prevent moisture from entering the probe tip. Additionally, special high-temperature ClickLoc connectors are standard on both the probe and extension cable. Each component includes connector protectors and a disposable tool to keep connectors clean. Moreover, the removable collar on the probe’s ClickLoc connector makes routing through tight spaces easier.

The 3300 XL 25 mm probe offers various case styles, including 1¼-12 or 1½-12 English threads, M30x2 or M39x1.5 metric threads, or side or rear exit probes with a 1.06 or 1.50 inch diameter smooth probe case. Furthermore, threaded probe cases include a locknut with predrilled safety wire holes.
